The Game of Blackjack

Blackjack game is also known as twenty-one but it doesn't matter what people call it. Beat the Dealer is the title of this game which was first come as the name of famous blackjack writer Edward O Thorp's popular book which also the cause of the revolution of this game.

Blackjack can be played with 5 different decks of cards; even you can also find the use of shuffling machine in many casinos. For single or double deck blackjack game the dealer does both the dealing and holding the cards, but for multi-deck, a box named shoe used to deal. The continuous shuffler also use shoe to hold and deal cards. For hand held game, player can pick up their cards and dealt as face down but for shoe game the deal uses face up and player can't touch their cards.

Objective

Beat the dealer is the aim of blackjack game and if the total of your cards is below 21 but over your dealer's total you win. If the dealer or your total is over 21 then game over or 'bust". If you bust then the dealer win whether the dealer busts too but if the dealer has bust and you don't then you win the game.

Values of Card

According to blackajck rules, cards from 2 to 10 are counted as face value and each face card has a value 'ten'. Ace can be counted as 1 or 11. So a queen and 5 will be 15 but an ace and 5 will be 6 or 16. If you contain an ace your hand will be known as soft hand otherwise hard hand. If you have an ace and for counting 11 as the ace value make the total value over 21 next your hand will be called as hard hand.

Blackjack

When you have ace and 10 valued cards make 21 which is called the blackjack and you will get paid as 3 to 2 bet but if the dealer gets blackjack then all player lose and if you and dealer both get blackjack then that will be push.

Hitting

Draw another card is known as hitting and you can do that by signaling the dealer and to get another card you have to signal again.

Standing

When you satisfied with your cards you have signal the buyer that you would like to stand.

Doubling Down

You can double your bet amount after checking the 1^st 2 cards. Most of the casinos allow doubling down after 2 cards but some can only allow this if you have a total of 10 or 11.

Splitting

When you have a pair you can signal the dealer and he will split those into two different hands but for that you have to create an extra bet same as your beginning bet.

Surrender

Surrender is the process to give up your hand and by getting this only the half of your betting amount can be paid back. Some casinos support this but most of casinos don't.
